"Song Of The Celtic Soul" The New Album From LIAM LAWTON



A man who continues to inspire a nation with his melodic music "Song of The Celtic Soul" is the latest album from Liam Lawton. This eagerly awaited special edition CD/ DVD Box Set will be released on Friday, 9th November 2007 .

"Song of The Celtic Soul" is a classic mix of pure and simple messages portrayed through Liam Lawton's music. The album is extremely emotive with all 17 tracks telling their own story. It includes the enchanting songs, "Kyrie", "Ave Maria" and "Benedictus" bringing its listener the spirit of Christmas.

Liam Lawton, the multi platinum singer songwriter, delights audiences all around the world with his distinctively pitch perfect voice. An extraordinary man who still continues to practise and work as a priest, Liam Lawton holds a Masters Degree in World Music and is also an accomplished landscape and abstract painter. His second book
[his first book "Song of My People" was published in 2002 by Veritas Publications] will be published in 2008, a major book publisher is signing him to write a number of books on his life and inspirations. In August 2006 Liam Lawton performed and recorded his new DVD Song Of The Celtic Soul in Dublin's Docklands. The spectacular backdrop of The River Liffey was the perfect venue for a truly engaging two night concert which was used for his CD/DVD release in the US and Worldwide. Liam Lawton has also graced the stages of The Vatican, The White House, Chicago Symphony Hall and of course those in his hometown of County Carlow. He never loses sight of his roots and continues to make an impact in Ireland with his work.

Music was flowing through Liam Lawton's veins from a very young age. It was only a matter of time before his talents were noticed and EMI Records signed Liam Lawton in March 2004.

Liam Lawton's career continues to blossom with his first album for EMI "Another World" achieving double platinum status and his second album, "Time" followed suit with great success. "Time" was recorded with The National Philharmonic Orchestra in Prague with arrangements by well known Chicago Symphony arranger Gary Fry. These elements work perfectly in harmony with Liam Lawton's love of classical music and his musical abilities. The release of his eagerly awaited third album, "Christmas Song" includes a collection of Liam's own favourite Christmas pieces with some original new music also.

Earlier this year, Liam Lawton was a guest at a special concert at the American Pastoral Musicians Conference in Indiana, where his work was performed by the Old St. Patricks Choir from Chicago. Liam Lawton's popularity was especially evident when he attended a special recording in Sweden where a concert of his music was performed by a 600 piece choir and musicians which was broadcast on National Radio. The event was conducted by highly regarded conductor Leif Nahnfeldt and the musicians included Gunnar Indenstam and Lisa Ryburg, renowed exponents of Classical / Folk Fusion. Having such influential musical figures working alongside him only enhances his vision for future material. His amazing talent did not go unnoticed by renowned figures within the music industry; Nick Ingham who scored several major films including Billy Elliot , Shakespeare in Love, Cold Mountain and Finding Neverland, was very impressed while working with Liam Lawton on "Song of the Celtic Soul" which features Nick's arrangements.

Away from singing, Liam Lawton's choral music has received critical acclaim, is used by choirs all over the world and has been translated into many languages including German, Swedish and Spanish.

In 2002, Liam Lawton wrote an orchestral suite based on the life of St. Patrick, which was premiered by Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Chicago Symphony Hall. This concert was narrated by Gregory Peck who spoke in glowing terms of Liam Lawton's work. He was also invited to write work in 2005, which he based on the life of St. Kevin, this time with highly acclaimed actor John Malkovich as narrator. He has already been invited to write another orchestral suite for The Chicago Symphony, which is expected to be premiered in 2009.

Back in 1996 Liam Lawton was commissioned to write a piece commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Irish Famine. This piece The Darkest Hour was brought to the attention of the World Health Organisation in the USA and Liam Lawton was invited to perform this work at the opening of a special commemoration exhibition of The Famine in Minneapolis . This led to him being offered a publishing deal by GIA, a major Music Publishing Company. Soon Liam Lawton's music was being performed in many diverse cities and towns across the US.

Over the years, Liam Lawton's fan base has expanded and his music has touched the lives of people in countries far and wide, including China, Africa, North America, Malyasia, Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand. His poetic lyrics and inspiration are drawn from the Irish landscape that is steeped in the history and gives people hope and comfort throughout the world. He reaches out to those who really need the inspiration for the future, for example his music is being used in a number of prisons throughout the world, especially on death row. He is in contact with a prisoner who has been on death row for 17 years in an African prison. He is also in contact with a woman who works for a state prison in Pakistan where prisoners have found solace in his music. He is involved in an AIDS project in Africa. His melodic songs tug at the heart strings and are songs of hope. Liam Lawton's acclaimed song 'The Clouds Veil' has been adopted as an anthem of hope after the Twin Towers tragedy in September 2001. This song has been performed right across the denominations in memorial ceremonies. His work transcends a message of spiritual enlightenment and gives audiences truly unforgettable memories. GIA Publishers made the song available on a free download; within an hour of setting up the website at the time, the song had been downloaded over 1,000 times. The song has since been downloaded several hundred thousand times. After this development, he performed many times in the USA including headlining a Christian Music Festival in Anaheim, California to a capacity crowd of 20,000 people. He has collaborated with well known artists such as Brian Kennedy, The Celtic Tenors, Moya Brennan, Fionnuala Sherry of Secret Garden, Roisin Reilly and Eimear Quinn among others.

Liam will embark on a nationwide tour of Ireland in November and December of this year to the delight of his Irish fans. He is a man who touches people's lives with his poetic moving lyrics, and for this reason his work will see him at centre stage for years to come!
