Deus Meus

Deus Meus, adiuva me - Ancient hymn written by Irish monks circa. 1086.

The language used is Middle Irish with Latin phrases

(the first and last line of each verse are in Latin the rest are in Irish)

In 1977 Irish composer Oliver Hynes composed contemporary music to put to this ancient work

The Irish Tenors on their "Sacred" album sing the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th verses.
