Maryland TransAtlantic Gateway to Ireland is Focus of Baseball Promotion at Baltimore's Camden Yards May 27


For some lucky fan in Baltimore the trip to the ballpark may turn into the dream vacation of a lifetime. And, the fan can surely claim to have had the Luck of the Irish in winning a fabulous vacation package for two to the Emerald Isle. Tourism Ireland and Aer Lingus, Ireland's national flag carrier, have teamed up for a travel industry promotion to take place at the Major League Baseball fixture on Thursday, May 27 at Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD.

One of Ireland's foremost tenors, Finbar Wright, will perform by singing America's National Anthem and Tourism Ireland and Aer Lingus will receive promotional exposure during the evening on the Jumbotron at the game. Game-time is at 7:05pm when the Baltimore Orioles take on the New York Yankees. Fans wishing to participate in the drawing for the vacation package for two must fill out cards on May 27th at the stadium to be included in the drawing.

Details of the promotion were announced today by Mr. Jim McGuigan, Executive Vice President in the United States for Tourism Ireland based in New York said, "We are pleased to join with Aer Lingus and the Baltimore Orioles organization for this promotion. Our presence at the ballpark will be augmented by television advertising exposure on WNUV-TV, also known as WB54, a WB Network affiliate that broadcasts Orioles games locally.
