Variety in songs of season
Donna Larcen

"A Motown Christmas" features the Motor City sounds of the Four Tops and the Temptations, shown above, Friday and Saturday.

They will perform many of their hits and traditional Christmas songs at 8 each night at the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, 2132 Hillside Road, University of Connecticut, Storrs. Tickets are $22 to $32. Information: 860-486-4226.

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra released its debut album, "Christmas Eve and Other Stories," in 1996. The music, a combination of rock, classical, jazz and blues, has become a new holiday tradition, selling out venues as large as 9,000 seats. The orchestra plays the careerbuilder.com Oakdale Musical Theatre in Wallingford Saturday at 3 and 8 p.m. Tickets are $26 to $42.50. Information: 203-265-1501.
