Here are three ways to hear
traditional and not-so-traditional songs of the season this weekend: the Temptations
and Four Tops, the Irish Tenors, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
"A
Motown Christmas" features the Motor City sounds of the Four Tops and the Temptations,
shown above, Friday and Saturday.
They will perform many of their hits
and traditional Christmas songs at 8 each night at the Jorgensen Center for the
Performing Arts, 2132 Hillside Road, University of Connecticut, Storrs. Tickets

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra
released its debut album, "Christmas Eve and Other Stories," in 1996. The music,
a combination of rock, classical, jazz and blues, has become a new holiday tradition,
selling out venues as large as 9,000 seats. The orchestra plays the careerbuilder.com
Oakdale Musical Theatre in Wallingford Saturday at 3 and 8 p.m. Tickets are $26
